In the long run, what FedEx�s IT staff of 5000 people aims to do is build an infrastructure that can support the company�s rapid growth. �We are in a growth business, and growth is not a marginal problem given the IT intensity of our business,� says CIO Jones. Conversely, without its intensive use of IT, FedEx would have a much less compelling growth story to tell.
